Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC)
Associate Provost Fitzgerald chairs the Committee on Institutional Cooperation's Committee on Engagement. The committee has drafted a working definition of engagement and is developing a resource guide and a set of assessment criteria and benchmarks that will be applicable across the universities of the CIC (an academic consortium of the Big Ten universities and the University of Chicago). The Office of the APUOE has been at the forefront of research on measures and indicators of quality outreach and engagement for several years, and played a key role in establishing the committee.
